Where Does Your Loyalty Lie?

8 Like This

OK folks, I think this thread is long overdue.

There are many, many people who pass through this ARG, most on a daily basis, but only a handful of you are leaving messages or comments.  So I am asking the question publicly, that I'm sure many of you have wondered.

Who do you support:  Team Liber8 or Team Kiera ?

Some of you have made it obvious (Sebastian, Langleyier, YankeeWhite), most are keeping quiet.  I wanna know if you are behind Kagame, Kiera, or still sitting on the fence (undecided).

Now is the time to show your support, and it's your chance to finally post on this ARG.  Be heard.

it's funny how 'us' Kiera supporters are not fully committed to the cause of Kiera--we seem to have taken a wait and see attitude--and yet most (if not all) Liber8 supporters have jumped in both with feet and strongly express their feelings in favour of Liber8.
An interesting sociological case study in how we make/base our decisions and the resulting support we do or don't give, wouldn't you say! : )

Good points about Team Kellog. He may be a weasel (a charming weasel), but he has the intelligence and survival skills to put him on top of any situation.

But I’ll stick with Team Kiera, win or lose, because I think that she is on the right side.. To quote browncoat Malcolm Reynolds from Firefly: “May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.”

I like the message of Liber8, but killing people is bad. Kiera is much better but she's on the side of corporations. However she's got the super cool suit and Alec the boy wonder.

In 2012, Kiera isn't really on the corporation's side though. She's usually stopping Liber8 from killing people. For that reason, Team Kiera!

Gotta say I'm with Liber8. They did the wrong thing for the right reason in 2077. Maybe by going back they can do things more peacefully, as Kagame tried to in the beginning. Plus there's the t-shirt... ;)

GregorFrolov's got a good point too though, Kellog sure figured out how to survive pretty quickly. And he got in Kiera's pants. LOL

Huh ... Lotsa Kiera supporters finally coming out of the closet. I really hate to do this to you lot, but I'm gonna have to declare my choice loud and proud.

    Go Team Kellog!

Yeah, you all read that right. Don't make me type it again. Kellog's been playing both sides in perfect harmony to orchestrate all of the events in the way HE wants them. Alec thinks that he's in control, but I have to admit - covered in slime as he may be - Kellog's got his hands around the throat of the entire situation right now. Even right now, he's got the lot of you pitting against each other after we've all been working together so diligently to crack these Codes week after week.

So, if you don't mind, I'll side with the guy who has access to the entire spy network, an undefined amount of money made off of the stock market, and a mobile base in the form of a freaking yacht.

    Go Team Kellog!

I agree that Kellog is working diligently to advance HIS cause, but of all the people, I consider him the slimiest and most untrustworthy.
However--I got to hand it to him, he is quite clever---just unfortunately an antihero to me.

It's good of you to support TeamTherono - I mean Team Kiera - for now. I suspect that Kiera in Season 2 (crosses fingers) will have more epiphanies about the flaws in her society, and will come to empathize with some of Liber8's goals, while continuing her struggle against their more violent changes.

Perhaps Kiera, back in 2012, will develop a third path - not CPS pawn, not Liber8, but a third (enlightened and non-violent) path to a better future.

But me, for now, still Team Kiera!

I guess it is obvious that there is always going to be people who do wrong no matter what side they are on, as too often people decide their own moral basis without a proper moral compass. To decide that the ends justifies the means (Liber8) no matter who it hurts in the process is unconscionable.
Kiera, as already mentioned, doesn't have full knowledge of what her people in 2077 have been living under so she has unwittingly become a pawn.
Change needs to happen. What will be best remains unseen. The actions of Liber8 need to be curtailed as long as violence is their means. Kiera's 2077 power base is corrupt.
So the only thing I can do right now is side with...teamtherono LOL.
Sigh, if I have to choose right now,....Kiera..with an enlightened mind will be my choice.... for the moment.

Although I like and support many elements of Liber8’s manifesto, their acts from the opening minutes of the show (the killing of 30, 0000 in the bombing of the Corporate Congress’ tower) have shown them to ruthless, merciless, and lacking empathy for those who they are supposedly trying to save. Too violent for my liking.

Although I am a supporter of “Team Kiera,” I will admit that Kiera is an agent of the system, supporting the status quo. She also does seem to have a limited viewpoint, coming from a middle-class background and lifestyle (or, if Greg is a wealthy and successful as an up-and-coming SadTech executive that I suspect that he is, from an upper-class lifestyle), and has not necessarily witnessed some of the injustices that a corporate society could inflict. I do think that Kiera will try to do what is right (other than, perhaps, sleep with Kellog), but glimpses of her life in the future have shown that she is starting to see the flaw’s in her society’s current system.

Until Liber8 shows me a better alternative by their actions, or proof that their violent actions is actually less harmful than the system that they oppose (perhaps in more flashbacks of 2077 during season 2), I will continue my support for Team Kiera.

      Stop Liber8!
(until at least until a better alternative to Liber8 or Team Kiera comes along in Season 2)

I'm still rather split. I like Kiera, but she does seem to be fighting for the 'wrong' side. And while Liber8 seems to have a better reason for fighting, the way they've gone about it (shooting people, killing people for their hormones, blowing up buildings of innocent people, etc) makes me reluctant to fully support them.

I think it would be easier to choose a side if we knew more about the future they are fighting against. Most of our glimpses of 2077 have come via Kiera, who seems to be comfortably/upper middle class, and other than the disbelief about the food rationing thing, doesn't seem to have much problem with the way things are run. Most info about the 'bad stuff' (born into debt, no freedoms, etc) have come from Liber8, which may not be the most reliable source of info, given they are using it as justification for their actions.

I hope the problems of the future become a bit more fleshed out in season 2 so we have a better idea of what's at stake.

Doh .... I guess since I put the question out there, I should state my choice. I'm almost sitting on the fence, because I like some of the ideas Liber8 has, but I also like that Kiera is there to try and keep the checks and balances (kind of like a minority government). Both believe that what they are doing is right and just, but Liber8 has taken many innocent lives for their cause.

    So, by a narrow margin ..... I am on Kiera's team !!
